December 2007 Chapter News
VAHRMM hosted its 24th Annual Fall Conference and 12th Annual Golf Tournament in Virginia Beach, VA, November 7th-9th.
With just over 130 members in attendance, attendees were able to take advantage of a well-rounded and highly educational agenda.  Presentations at the conference included a panel discussion from experts in the industry regarding the pros and cons surrounding the hot topic of reprocessing single use devices.  Tracey Jeter, President of the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council provided an overview about initiatives of VMSDC, one of 39 affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council.  Robert Meinertzhagen, Business Technologist for General Dynamic Information Technology offered tips on planning, developing and giving professional presentations to any audience.
All attendees enjoyed the opportunity to hear from Bev Slate, Associate Vice President, QHR Supply Chain Solutions and Past-President for VAHRMM, regarding tools and resources to overcome clinical objections and making the case for cost and quality.  Over 47 vendors participated in the Vendor Fair; spotlighting featured products, services and technology.
Many opportunities for networking and enjoyment were available for attendees with a dinner cruise on the Virginia Jewel, the comical from healthcare humorist, Johnny Burns and the delightful, jazzy tunes from Mr. John Hasse, Curator of American Music at the Smithsonian Institute.
VAHRMM will host its 2008 conference November 5th-7th at the Virginia Beach Hilton and welcome all to attend, check out our website for more information as the agenda progresses at www.vahrmm.org.
